"I sat on my couch and cried daily for two years straight. When I finally decided to get help, the place I went to seemed only interested in writing me a prescription. I was confused and scared. I barely understood what was wrong with me. I was going to give up, but I decided to try again with someone else. That someone else was Laurie Pels-Roulier. With barely an ounce of a fighting spirit, I started to see Laurie and it was the best decision I could have made for my life at that time. She listens, she gives it to you straight, and most of all, you can tell that she genuinely cares. She steers you head on into the face of a solution that was there all along and more importantly, you leave her office no longer feeling misunderstood. The service she provides is immeasurable. Thank you, Laurie!"
"About a year and a half ago, I began to notice that something did not feel quite right. I was in a college setting where I often felt uncomfortable and pretty lost. I talked to some people about what was going on and eventually was led to you from a recommendation from a family member. When I finally decided to give it a shot, my life was changed so much. It takes a lot of work to be successful in therapy, and she made it much easier for me. I came into your office every couple weeks with an open mind and left with a sense of confidence in myself. Eventually, that confidence built up and the anxiety started to drift away. My collegiate experience has exponentially improved due to a two way effort from both of us, and I cannot thank you enough for believing in me and helping me through the dark times. I can now say that I have found a new sense of hope in life where I live not to get to the next day, but to enjoy every single minute of it. "
"Laurie is an excellent therapist. I have been seeing her for about 2 years now and she has helped me in almost every aspect of my life. I met her shortly after my mother had passed and initially I was in quite a state. I was anxious a lot, I would withdraw from normal activities, I would occasionally have severe depression and suicidal thoughts and I often felt that people would be angry at me or would dislike me for various reasons. At the very first session Laurie assured me that I was in fact normal and made me feel comfortable with who I am. She has shown me ways to become calm in the face of disturbing situations and to learn how to relax when normal events cause me unwanted anxiety, fear or anger. Since I have been working with Laurie I have moved into a new home, gotten married, found a job I am satisfied with, developed new hobbies, have made new friends and have reconnected with others that I had fell out of touch with.
I have seen many therapists since I was a very young person, and I can say without a doubt that Laurie is the best was able to help me find an endocrinologist who helped me along in my transition. I have seen many therapists since I was a very young person, and I can say without a doubt that Laurie is the best I have ever met and perhaps the only therapist I have met who has made a positive and lasting change in my life."
